Batman
This character has been adapted many times, you can see from the two pictures that Batman's colours have been changed and his costume has also been changed, even though he has changed so much you can tell that he is the same character. This is because the same form has been kept over the years and the character traits that the hero are mirrored by his outfit on both occasions.
The things that have remained the same are the general shape of the outfit eg. gloves, boots, full body suit and cowl. these items have become a symbol for this character and have made it so you can recognize the character even if you were to change certain aspects of them drastically. The colours of the characters outfit gives you clues into the type of character they are, For this character allot of dark colours are used to reflect their dark personality, the heavy use of black is used to intensify the mystery of the character that is suggested by the mask. Black is associated with shadows and stealth you yu get the idea that the character is smart and sneaky,
WHAT WORKS? the things that work with this character are the colour, costume and traits blend together so well, it gives you the general idea idea of what the page is meant to be like while still having a layer of mystery.
WHAT DOESN'T WORK? There is not allot of fantasy just with Batman, when you go into his world and interact with his enemies and allies he becomes more and more fantasy but without those he is a plausible being.
