Research (lens)

I like the idea of changing images and working with masks like Saul Steinberg dose but I might not use a physical mask in the photo to do so as seen below with one of my tests

Unlike this image of Saul Steinberg using paper bag as a mask

I also like the idea of of taking photos like Francesca Woodman that are in grey scale to add a sinister feel to the image, but I would like my images to have some narrative to it.

Merging Photos(lens)

            Carson Elis                                      Agoera                                       Hsiao-Ron Cheng

Carson Elis uses Water colour as well as illustration for this work, she mainly dose illustrations of people or places with an older art style, this work is done in prospective of a person who is part of a narrative like her other work.

Agoera uses paint in this work, this person uses paint mostly, their art style is quite broad but mostly it is of people in a setting, the paint is done in a illustrative style, the colour pallet isn't limited, they produce coloured and monochromatic works.

Hsiao-Ron Cheng uses saturated colour in most of their work, their art style in not limited but they do many live works that have ideals towards life, they do very life like drawings and cartoon styled drawings with pale colours.

photoshop (image)

This is a good example of blending in photoshop, combining facial structures are hard to do when the two people have different jaw lines, this comes into play with the mouth being lower than it should be due to length of the mans face, this also puts the laugh lines out of place but apart from that the ratios are well done
This image looks creepy due to the fact that the person has used the smudge tool to cover over the openings in the mans face, this is apparent due to the fact that there is hair  under they eyes that are the remains of the mans eyelashes
This image looks very interesting due to that fact it appears to be a stencil on a box.

research

Many photography self portraits that i have seen use a film noir style in their photography while some are full of colour, I found out that I like the look of grey scale self portraits because of the way it highlights the shadows in the image that causes an interesting effect. Two of the images use silver gelatine print format while one isa painting that has been edited and the other two are a digital photograph that has been desaturated. The context of the photo can have a very wide range since a photo is worth a thousand words more or less so the viewer can take a very different meaning from a photo then the one that was intended.
