Auditions(Glen)

Figuring out what we are going to do for the auditions was hard because our script had some interpretations so we held practice auditions for ourselves to figure out which scenes we are going to use, It took us an hour and a half and we chose to do 3 scenes that would later be cut down to 2. The scene with the drinking was important because we needed to see how the rapists reacted around the girl and also to see how the girl would act around others. The second scene for the auditions was the getting the love interests phone number scene, this was to see if the actors could pull off the role of the main character and the love interest. The scene that we dumped was the walking scene, this was because it didn't serve much purpose.I was there for the entire time with the others and gave up my lunch to look after the room while everyone else went out. Everyone had fun and we had substitutes, Pati started to overwrite my actions but he toned back because he was giving the wrong instructions. I made sure that all the actors knew exactly what they were singing up for with the scenes to make sure that they were ok with it and I made sure that they understood what we wanted from them exactly.

I was surprised by how well the actors could act for their first time, I received good reviews from the actors, they were comfortable with me and understood everything I said, i]I may have been to harsh on myself on the day but some actors showed real promise, After talking to Deb and Sam we chose who the actors would be, we were surprised with how well Peter suited the role of rapist so we made him one. I was not to sure on the victim because they wanted Rachel to be the victim and I thought that Sarah would have been better because she fits the mood so we chose her and me all thought that Gentle would make a very good main character, I left the rest of the choices for Sam and Deb to take the lead on choosing.

Overall I think that the auditions went well and we got the actors we need, now we only need to worry about the execution of the filming day and the fact that we still don't know what each house looks like so we will need to improvise when we get on location, we are looking good but we have a lack of organisation on things that we really should know and we still don't have conformation on our extras.
