lighting grey scale (Glen)
This was taken late at night so I would have no natural lighting with 3 Lights and the camera was set to monochrome so I could tell how the image would look without needing to put it into a computer first. The first shot is taken with just a fill light, you can hardly make out my silhouette since it is such a soft light. The next scene has a light focused on my face as well as the right fill light to get rid of the shadows on the right side of my face and my shoulder so the left side of my face looks more defined. The shadows frame my face and since I have black hair I stand out from the wall and my beard adds a deep shadow to my neck. The light also keep brining my face in and out of vision while the grey scale aspect highlights the focus of light on my cheeks and makes it stand out.
