Tim Burton Stop Animation- Clay(lens)

This is an example of stop animation using clay in a professional environment for the film The Nightmare Before Christmas  directed by Tim Burton. Tim Burton has made many films that are of stop animation clay because it gives the effect of not being real. When taken to this extent it can bee seen as a smooth image that is moving and is much easier to do than CG if you have the right people moving your clay models are it ends up taking less money to produce. In the olden days directors had to use stop animation to animate fantasy things because there was no other way to do it but Tim Burton uses it because of the look it gives of and it matches the art style of a story book much better than live action or 3D animation that cost allot to do at the time.

This is not something that I can directly apply to my work since I am using a different medium but I can use this as a base for simple things such as effect interaction, frame timing, change of frame length, shadow interaction and many other things. I find Tim Burton's work to be very interesting and his story telling skills to be interesting as well. Something I will use will be the running image idea in this clip.
